Dinosaur Keepsake

A keepsake animal is a popular way of preserving and presenting your loved ones precious items, and can even capture a little insight into their personality. 

A dinosaur keepsake includes single name/date of birth if required. We recommend this is placed on the underneath of each foot.

Have you stored your baby's first outfit in a box out of sight, or do you have your loved one's favourite shirt still hanging in the wardrobe? It can be difficult to part with such precious things, not knowing what to do with them. Turning your treasured clothing into a keepsake is a fantastic alternative giving you a physical and lasting reminder of some of the most special people in your life.

Your keepsake will be lovingly made and your items will be handled with the highest respect. Every keepsake is unique and can be personalised in many different ways to ensure you bring out the special character in each one.

What to send...

If you're sending baby items then you need to choose between 8 and 10 pieces of clothing per keepsake animal. If you have premature or newborn sizes you can send a few extra just to ensure you have enough fabric. Please don't cut the fabric yourself unless you've spoken to us first, there's no need and you might cut it too small. We will pick out any tiny details that can be used and present them in the best way possible for you.

Stretchy fabric works best - if you have lightweight/see through, denim, leather or knitted fabric please get in touch first and we can have a quick check to see if your fabric can be used. It's always better to check first and we're happy to help!

If you're using toddler clothes you need to choose around 6 items of clothing per keepsake animal.

If you're using adult clothes then we recommend two adult items per keepsake animal so that you have contrasting colours.

Whilst the same pattern shapes are used for each type of animal, the finished item will be unique to you and the clothes that you send. Sizes, colours and little details will vary as this depends on the type and colour of clothing that you send for your own keepsake. Please note that small details such as the eye type/colour may vary slightly. If you are ordering more than one keepsake we will try to keep the eye types the same on each keepsake where possible.

If your are selecting personalised embroidery you can provide the names, dates and special text at the end of the order process.

Caring for your keepsake

Your keepsake can be machine washed at a low temperature but we would prefer you to hand wash them. Remember that your keepsake has been made from pre-loved clothing which can become fragile over time, and some will use a mixture of dark and light colours. To ensure your keepsake remains in tip-top condition please handle them with care, wash and dry them gently and never put them in the tumble dryer.

The important bit

As your keepsake is made from one of a kind, pre-loved fabric it cannot be CE tested (this is the safety test that standard soft toys must pass). Therefore, these keepsakes are not toys and are for ornamental use only. Warning: They should never be given to children of any age as they may contain small parts (such as button eyes for example) which can be a chocking hazard as these parts are hand-sewn.
